The Splitting Up of America is Already Underway – Americans Moving to States for Political Views

We have often heard of people packing up and moving across the country for a variety of reasons. Most often it is for a new job or career opportunity. Other times it is for a change of weather as we see with all the snow-birds that go south for the winter. Other times it is to move to better school districts for parents to educate their kids. And other times it is to be close to family, and still other times to get away from family and make a fresh start.

But more and more we are seeing people move for political reasons. They want to be near people who hold the same political and moral views as they do. I personally know of several people who have moved from deep blue states on the West Coast to the hills of Tennessee to start their own homesteads. I have also seen people move from conservative small towns in middle America to start new lives in deep-blue cities like Portland – the ANTIFA capital of the world.

So while we hear pundits on television discussing the possible breakup of America, it is already happening. Conservative and progressive neighbors are peacefully breaking up with each other by picking up and moving to states and cities that agree with their point of view.

A natural result of this ongoing breakup is that blue states are becoming bluer and red states are becoming redder. And so the divide between blue and red states is growing. And this leads to an increased likelihood that an actual breakup will occur.

There has been much discussion of late as to what that breakup might look like. Would it be an actual splitting apart of the country? Or would simply be a more radical federalism where states have much more leeway to implement laws and policies that conform to the views of their citizens?

Whatever the result, we should expect this trend to continue and even accelerate in the future as leftist issues such as critical race theory, intersectionality, and multiple genders take hold in public schools. Parents will do almost anything to protect their kids. But conservative parents may grow tired of fighting progressive local school boards. Ans so many conservative parents will simply leave for redder pastures.

Only time will tell how this will all unfold in the end. But be sure about one thing. Americans are on the move for political and cultural reasons. The breakup of America has already begun.
